A fruity, fresh, delicate and smooth wine.
The reputation of Chardonnay is long established. Its aromatic breadth is such that it can be used to make great dry white wines as well as sparkling wines like champagne. Chardonnay bubbly is very elegant with delicate aromas of white flowers and citrus.
To highlight the aromatic range of this variety, Roche Mazet selects wines from the best plots in Pays d’Oc, where the grapes are harvested slightly early to lock the liveliness in the resulting sparkling wine. The magical bubbles appear during the second fermentation, a phase that is key to their fineness. Here is where real know-how is necessary to ensure that Roche Mazet Chardonnay Brut comes out fresh and elegant every time.
Roche Mazet Chardonnay Brut has a luminous pale yellow robe with green tints in which fine glistening bubbles appear. On the nose it displays delicate citrus and orchard fruit aromas. It is fresh and mineral on the palate recalling hints of toasted hazelnuts and quince, enhanced by the sparkle of bubbles.
Served chilled between 7° and 9°C (44° and 48°F), this fresh, delicate wine is great for aperitifs or to accompany a whole meal. It is as good with seafood, foie gras and pan-fried scallops as with desserts, such as an apple tart.
Foie gras: the Chardonnay Brut reinforces the fondant feel of the foie gras, enhancing this classic dish with hints of orchard fruits.
Sweet crepes: the Chardonnay Brut with its subtle aromas of quince and toasted hazelnut make the crepes even tastier.
Canapes with cream cheese, fine herbs and prawns: the mineral flavour of the Chardonnay Brut provides an elegant lift to the creamy nature of these canapes.
Pays d’Oc is a vast mosaic of wine growing situations and conditions.
Roche Mazet picks out the places where the best of each grape variety is expressed and carefully blends them together with respect and great passion.
